Introduction

The sun shone red, it was morning, or at least it was supposed to be. Katrina checked her watch and it marked twelve-thirty. At first she didn´t realize, but then it came to her like winter morning. The sun shouldn´t be red at his time. Something had to be wrong or something had happened. She looked out the window and, to her surprise, realized that she wasn't the only one. Rituals and chantings had already begun, a favor from the gods to send a messenger and let them know what was near or about to happen.

- Finally!!- she heard a familiar voice and looked for it - I've been waiting for your arrival. Come down here! We need a drop of blood to start the Invocation spell. Come, hurry up.

It was her mother talking to her from the entrance of the house. She was preparing a ritual to Invoke the town's Oracle. To start the chanting it required the blood of all the women in the family. Without it, the Oracle might feel offended and never return to help Its village.

Katrina's mother was called Kira, and she was most powerful seer in the region and even Kings from other countries came to speak with her about their country's problems. Though she used unconventional magic (a bit black and a bit of white), whenever there was a serious problem all town came to her. Her mother was a powerful witch who was said to have sold her soul to Akhna. She was said to be able control weather, read minds, and even control people and teleport. This were just some of the things they could blame her of but it was also rumored that she had a Book that contained very powerful incantions that allowed her to do things beyond human imagination, like survivng her own death.

But all this ended when she was burned at the stake and the ashes were spread in the temple of Asakteh to prevent any magical resucitation.
